EV Cargo Solutions post-delivery coordinator Laura Fowler completed her first half marathon last summer, despite having to do all her training alone in lockdown – and lost nearly two stone in the process.

Laura ran the Cloud Trail from Worthington in Leicestershire to Swakestone in Derbyshire in two hours and 23 minutes.

Laura said: “My motivation was my fitness levels and weight loss, running is (almost) free and you can run more or less anywhere you want to.

“It helped me to lose almost two stone during lockdown as it was one of the only things in my control. It’s also something I feel helps with mental health and even more so during lockdown.

“Being able to get out and have that headspace is really beneficial, even more so with working from home, as it helps you to escape those four walls.”

Laura, who has raised money for the Friends of the Baby Unit at Royal Derby Hospital through her running, plans to do further half marathons in March and May if they go ahead.
