Description of Role

Reporting into the Transport Manager and General Manager you will be a key member of the team, responsible for ensuring complete and correct order of our fleet in a legal and socially responsible manner.

  • Ensure Health & Safety, Environmental and Operator`s Licence Compliance
  • Create and implement best practice logistic principles, policies and processes across the site to improve operational performance
  • Service planning of site-based core fleet along with Transport Manager and Maintenance Manager
  • Daily Trailer checks for service planning, MOT checks, plating certificated and visible defects
  • Ensure Unit & Trailer defect procedure is completed and traceability for records
  • Liaise with workshop to ensure R&M program is completed with minimal disruption to trailer & Unit availability
  • Proactive approach to infringement reporting and rectification
  • Ensure vehicle files are updated consistently and indexed
  • Ensure training for driver CPC is maintained and compliant
  • All defects are signed off as completed and fit for the road before leaving the depot
  • Resolving driver issues in real-time
  • Maintaining records of our fleet and drivers
  • Liaising with driver agencies

What are we looking for?

  • You will have your GCSE Maths and English Level 4 (Grade C) and above
  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential
  • Knowledge of Tru Tac System preferred but can be trained to the right candidate
  • You will have excellent communication skills, spoken and written
  • Build good working relationships with work colleagues and our customers
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Excellent attention to detail, friendly and helpful nature
  • Proven ability to prioritise workloads and meet tight deadlines.
  • Highly organised and able to handle difficult situations.
  • Proven ability to work on own initiative.
  • Strong PC Literacy including Word & Excel
