Description of Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Import Coordinator to join our team.

We are looking for a coordinator who is well organised, with strong attention to detail and great communication skills.

  • Liaising both verbally and via email with UK clients and or overseas network offices to arrange movement of freight
  • Working in accordance with client SOP’s to ensure that KPI’s are recorded, reviewed, and met.
  • Accurate and timely completion of all relevant documentation e.g., customs declarations, shipping documents.
  • Ensuring that the operational finances are accurately completed and to agreed timescales in line with company/client KPI’s
  • To ensure all transport/warehouse related matters are planned in accordance with the import/export procedures
  • Ensure all queries/issues are acted upon and responded to immediately and where necessary escalated
  • Adherence to Security and all regulatory bodies requirements
  • Monitor and updating operational systems to ensure accurate records and client visibility
  • Generating and acting upon/issuing reports to meet operational and client requirements
  • Raising non-conformances when required
  • Undertake any other duties commensurate to the post as may be reasonably required

What are we looking for?

  • You will have your GCSE Maths and English Level 4 (Grade C) and above
  • Experience in freight forwarding
  • You will have excellent communication skills, spoken and written
  • Build good working relationships with work colleagues and our customers
  • Excellent attention to detail, friendly and helpful nature
  • Proven ability to prioritise workloads and meet tight deadlines
  • Able to handle difficult situations
  • Proven ability to work on own initiative
  • Strong PC Literacy including Word & Excel
  • Looking for a future career and progression within a growing company

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience of working in a office environment
  • Experience of providing excellent customer service
  • Knowledge of HMRC guidelines
  • Knowledge of MS packages word and excel
  • Previous work within a freight forwarding or international supply chain environment
