Description of Role

Join us as a Regional Driver Trainer within our East Midlands Region

In this role you will ensure driver training and inductions are conducted, and records are kept up to date in line with our company policy and legislation.

What will you be doing?

  • Ensure company policies and government legislations are adhered to.
  • Ensure documentation meet depot process and legislative requirements.
  • Promote a culture where Health and Safety is part of our daily activities.
  • Ensure driver Induction are fully completed and recorded and reviewed.
  • Identify and escalate all potential risks and look for areas of improvement across the department.
  • Work in line with the standard operating procedure.
  • Responsible for delivering CPC courses to drivers and shunters.
  • Conduct a full and comprehensive training induction process to all drivers ensuring that drivers reach company standard.
  • Ensure the agency induction process is followed.
  • Ensure the recording of driver Induction, training and maintenance of records for full time & agency drivers, meet Company standards.
  • Liaise with Site Managers and Planning Teams for training schedules.
  • Conduct driver assessments at interview stage.
  • Manage refresher training for drivers & shunters (CPC).
  • Plan training sessions, review training and make improvements to training.
  • Deliver training after accidents or investigations.
  • Report any environmental or H&S incidents to Line Managers.
  • Cooperate fully within the Company and with others in meeting and maintaining legislative requirements.
  • Identify training needs and assist management to implement the improvement measures.
  • Conduct risk assessments for the company and the customer ensuring all relevant reports and documents are acted upon and maintained.
  • Ensure all employees and agency staff have been fully inducted.
  • Ensure workstation are kept clean and tidy.
  • Other duties that may arise from operational requirements.

What are we looking for?

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • The ability to effectively communicate, facilitate, present and train
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of how to deliver engaging training and support material
  • The great ability of logical and analytical thinking and structured way of working
  • Competent in transport operations legislation
  • A good knowledge of driver hour and health and safety legislations
  • Have an LGV Driving Licence
  • Build good working relationships with work colleagues and our customers
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Proven ability to prioritise workloads and meet tight deadlines
  • Proven ability to work on own initiative
  • Good PC Literacy including Word & Excel
  • Looking for a future career and progression within a growing company

Desirable Criteria:

  • Qualified in PTLLS Level 3 or Equivalent
  • National Register for HGV Instructors (NRI)
  • IOSH
  • CPC Holder
