EV Cargo\u2019s Palletforce has entered long-term partnerships to support two of the nation\u2019s leading charities tackling hunger across the country. The international express distribution network has committed supply chain expertise and financial support to both FareShare and the Trussell Trust after being inspired by their work and efforts to redistribute food during the COVID-19 pandemic. Palletforce donated \u00a35,000 to each of the two charities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expert Logistics Support<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Palletforce <\/a>and its members have played a key role in the UK\u0002wide distribution of food and grocery items donated to foodbanks as part of a mammoth collaboration with Sainsbury\u2019s, British Gas, FareShare and the Trussell Trust. The unprecedented partnership supported families and communities by redistributing nutritious and in-date food to charities, school breakfast clubs and homeless shelters across the UK. Sainsbury’s released food donations from multiple locations across the UK which Palletforce transported to the GXO sortation centre in Banbury. There, the food was sorted into specific packages for Fareshare and the Trussell Trust and the pallets of food were taken to Palletforce’s SuperHub in Burton upon Trent before being distributed to member depots around the country. British Gas then collected the food from the depots to make the final deliveries. The Fareshare network distributes surplus, high-quality food to 11,000 frontline charities and community groups, handing out millions of meals each week. The Trussell trust supports a nationwide network of food banks, providing emergency support for those in need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
