Kind-hearted employees at EV Cargo\u2019s Palletforce have been volunteering at food charity FareShare in a bid to help hungry families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Palletforce volunteers helped to pack enough produce to make 3,600 meals for local community centres, foodbanks, schools and youth groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shona Callow, Simon Bradbury, Jo Duncan, Deb Wallbanks, Simon Gibbard and Pennie Bailey worked the morning shift at FareShare\u2019s Nottingham depot to help ensure that the donated food got to where it was needed most.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The charity works with Palletforce and its members to undertake the express distribution of surplus food from supermarkets to many charities and community groups across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Palletforce Sales Director Simon Bradbury said: \u201cPalletforce has been a long-time supporter of FareShare and we all know about the vital work it does, both in our local communities in the Midlands and across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As well as the hours spent volunteering \u2013 which will go towards Palletforce\u2019s goal of 10 volunteer hours per employee \u2013 the company also donated a photoshoot to Fareshare for the charity to use in its materials to demonstrate its work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Palletforce has worked with FareShare for eight years and helps distribute food across the country.
FareShare works with the food industry to get good-to-eat surplus food that may otherwise go to waste, to its network of nearly 9,500 charities and community groups across the UK. Last year, FareShare moved 540,000 tonnes of food \u2013 enough for 128 million meals \u2013 and demand is rising.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
