He will lead a commercial team to develop freight forwarding, contract logistics and eCommerce opportunities in the region, helping to expand customer service and cross-sales fertilisation across EV Cargo\u2019s operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr Schmidt has more than 20 years of logistics industry experience, with 15 years in Hong Kong. He joins EV Cargo from Arvato Supply Chains Solutions, Hong Kong, where he was Regional Director, Business Development \u2013 Asia-Pacific, with responsibility for the business development of leading international brands. Before that he worked for Janco Global Logistics in Hong Kong as Business Development Manager, specialising in cross-border eCommerce, contract logistics, international freight forwarding and express services. He has also worked for Cargo Services Far East, Kuehne &amp; Nagel, Rhenus Logistics Asia-Pacific, METRO Group and Hellmann Worldwide Logistics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr Schmidt has a Bachelor in Transport Economics &amp; Logistics from Deutsche Aussenhandels und Verkenhrs-Akademie in Bremen, Germany, and an MSc in Global Supply Chain Management from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EV Cargo, which manages supply chains for the world\u2019s leading brands, aims to surpass $3bn of revenue through organic growth and strategic M&amp;A activities, with growth in Asia and in particular China playing a key role.
