This International Women’s Day, we\u2019re proud to celebrate the women across our network who are shaping the future of logistics. This year\u2019s theme, #GiveToGain, is about sharing knowledge, creating opportunity, supporting growth and recognising that when we invest in others, we all move forward together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From leadership roles in international freight, to account management in road logistics, to frontline warehouse operations, these stories highlight the diverse and inspiring careers women are building across our business.<\/p>\n\n\n

Tineke de Vries \u2013 Branch Supervisor, Brussels<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am currently Branch Supervisor in Brussels, where I support the Branch Manager and oversee both strategic and operational responsibilities. My focus today is strongly centred around Prevention and Wellbeing (HSE), HR soft skills, security management and training coordination, while ensuring a structured and supportive working environment for our teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, I still actively support operations whenever needed and I remain SCM Supervisor EMEA Control Tower, because I genuinely love every aspect of logistics.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tineke joined the company eight years ago as an SCM Coordinator in the EMEA Control Tower, managing the PO platform and coordinating sea freight<\/a> exports from EMEA to the US. Over the years, through office moves, a full rebrand and an M&A transition, she has supported multiple departments across sea, air and road freight, as well as warehouse systems and distribution management.<\/p>\n\n\n

\n\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\tLogistics has traditionally been seen as male-dominated, but what really matters is knowledge, reliability and teamwork. At the beginning of my career, I sometimes felt I had to prove myself more. I learned quickly that being well-prepared, staying calm under pressure and focusing on solutions speaks louder than anything else.\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

For Tineke, #GiveToGain is about trust and growth.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThroughout my journey, I\u2019ve been trusted with new responsibilities, sometimes before I felt fully ready. That trust pushed me to grow. Today, I try to create that same supportive environment for others, focused on wellbeing, safety and development.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her advice to women entering logistics:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cStay curious, say yes to opportunities and don\u2019t underestimate the value you bring. There is more room to grow in this industry than many people realise.\u201d

Jo Fleeman \u2013 Account Director, Road Freight<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am an Account Director within Road Freight<\/a>, responsible for managing strategic customer relationships, operational performance and commercial growth across a portfolio of key accounts. No two days are the same – from customer engagement and performance reviews to problem solving and leading improvement initiatives. The pace and variety are what make the role both challenging and rewarding.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jo\u2019s career in logistics began over 20 years ago in Customer Services before progressing into Supply Chain, managing KPIs across multiple 3PLs. Moving from the customer side into distribution gave her a new perspective, and while working full time and raising two young children, she completed a Master\u2019s degree – developing the resilience and multitasking skills she uses daily.<\/p>\n\n\n

\n\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\tWe all know it\u2019s been seen as a \u2018man\u2019s world,\u2019 but that is changing. Being confident and a strong individual is key to progressing in this industry. I\u2019ve always focused on consistency, preparation and delivering results. Building trust through competence and reliability has been essential.\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

For Jo, #GiveToGain reflects the people who invested in her development.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn my career, growth has been influenced by individuals who offered guidance and challenged me to step outside my comfort zone – especially a boss early on who believed in me more than I believed in myself. I want to do the same for others.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her advice?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not an easy ride, but it\u2019s a worthy one. Be confident, hold your own and back yourself.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n

Krystal \u2013 Apprentice FLT Driver<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m an Apprentice FLT Driver within EV Cargo’s Palletforce<\/a>. My role is to unload trailers, take pallets to the relevant bays and ensure they\u2019re scanned into the hub. I\u2019m currently working towards my Level 2 Supply Chain Warehouse Operative qualification.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inspired by family members in similar roles, Krystal knew warehouse logistics would suit her.
\u201cI love meeting new people and talking with the teams and drivers. I\u2019ve had a very welcoming and fantastic experience so far and I\u2019m really enjoying working here.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like many early-career professionals, she faces new challenges every day, but approaches them with persistence.<\/p>\n\n\n

\n\t\t\t\tI overcome challenges by being calm and staying focused on whatever task I need to complete. I\u2019m very proud to be in the position I am now.\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

For Krystal, #GiveToGain is simple and heartfelt:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI believe if you are polite to others, they will be polite back.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Supported by her colleagues and inspired by her dad, who always told her that if you set your mind to something, you can achieve it – Krystal has grown significantly in confidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI used to be really shy, but I\u2019m very chatty now and feel a lot more confident.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her message to other women considering logistics?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDon\u2019t worry about other people, just chase your dreams.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n
