Managed transport solutions<\/a> expert Jigsaw, part of logistics group EV Cargo, has won a contract to import and distribute glass bottles across the UK in a project which sees it pioneering a transport and storage solution utilising the full scale of EV Cargo\u2019s group expertise.<\/p>\n

A fully managed integrated solution across Jigsaw, Allport Cargo Services (ACS) and CM Downton sees around 200 containers of glass bottles brought into the UK monthly from the Al Tajir glass bottle manufacturing facility in Dubai.<\/p>\n

The deal is another milestone for EV Cargo as it demonstrates the combined group\u2019s power, capability and greater overall competencies to offer integrated solutions from supplier to manufacturer and on to the end customer.<\/p>\n

The new business sees Jigsaw responsible for a logistics solution which helps address the current shortage of glass bottles in the UK by enabling the development of a new supply chain flow, providing a robust solution for Al Tajir.<\/p>\n

Under a single-source supplier agreement with Jigsaw, containers arrive into Bristol, Southampton and Felixstowe ports where ACS manages the customs clearance and transport to warehouses. Downton controls the storage at its strategically located warehouse facilities before Jigsaw manages the transport to customer sites.<\/p>\n

Jigsaw currently manages inbound bottles to UK customers including the world\u2019s largest brewer and many of the Middle East-made products will be destined for major UK breweries.<\/p>\n

The solution demonstrates Jigsaw\u2019s agility to work with material suppliers to its major customers and introduce an all-new, innovative supply chain flow.<\/p>\n

The contract is also a clear example of the tangible benefit delivered by EV Cargo with individual operating companies working seamlessly together to drive efficiency and offer a synergistic, added-value logistics solution to customers.<\/p>\n
