EV Cargo company Jigsaw says its agility and superior systems have allowed it to implement a number of innovative solutions for customers in response to volatility in the supply chain associated with COVID-19.<\/p>\n
The managed transport expert has adjusted its operational model for certain customers to minimise delays and ensure product is reaching retailers on time. It has bypassed distribution centres, many of which are bottle-necked because of limited resources, and is delivering food and drink supplies directly to major supermarket stores.<\/p>\n
The company has worked closely with customers to change their supply chain strategies in-line with unstable consumer demand and will offer continued flexibility as market conditions change.<\/p>\n
Despite around 70% of its employees working from home, Jigsaw\u2019s robust systems have provided the connectivity and scalability to handle significant volumes over the last few weeks. That included going to the market to successfully secure urgent additional capacity as peak volumes across many of its customers were similar to Christmas activity levels.<\/p>\n
Andy Humpherson, Jigsaw managing director, said: \u201cJigsaw has been working extremely closely with its customers, helping to deliver new solutions and adapting our strategy according to consumer buying patterns and demand. Our innovative thinking, and the agility as part of EV Cargo, has ensured goods have continued to reach retailers. In some instances, that\u2019s required us to bypass distribution centres, many of which are bottle-necked, and deliver direct to stores.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re lucky to have robust systems underpinned by the flexibility and connectivity to quickly adapt and introduce new solutions.
