EV Cargo Logistics has extended its long-term relationship with supermarket giant Sainsbury\u2019s with a new two-year contract extension, which includes an increased level of primary distribution from fresh produce suppliers across the UK.<\/p>\n
EV Cargo Logistics will handle an additional 10,000 pallets every week, collecting produce from 60 suppliers across 40 different locations, and delivering to the 13 regional distribution centres which form Sainsbury\u2019s national network.<\/p>\n
\u201cEV Cargo is a long-term, trusted partner to Sainsbury\u2019s and this contract extension is the result of the high level of service we\u2019ve provided since 2002,\u201d explained managing director Aaron Scott.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve driven efficiency and volumes by combining network flows and will manage this additional significant volume through our existing primary chilled network to enhance service levels even further.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe fresh produce we collect from the 60 additional suppliers is all in the temperature range of +2 to +10 degrees so time, efficiency and service is paramount.
