Eight staff have passed a food safety course originally designed by NASA, as part of EV Cargo Logistics\u2019 effort to ensure the company continues to meet stringent safety and hygiene standards.<\/p>\n
The HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) course covered the NASA-devised system to ensure food is safe to eat regardless of its journey to the plate.<\/p>\n
Knowledge and implementation of HACCP plays a vital part in EV Cargo Logistics\u2019 sites being certified to the British Retail Consortium\u2019s Global Standard for Storage and Distribution, which is effectively a Quality Mark for firms in the food supply chain.<\/p>\n
National Quality Manager Karen Leppard said: \u201cAll eight colleagues from various departments and depots passed well and will join their respective site HACCP teams. This ongoing training programme will ensure EV Cargo Logistics remains an example of best practice within our industry.\u201d<\/p>\n
Stefan Gallo, who was one of the eight to take the course, said: \u201cI have been with the business for over eight years now and have always understood the importance of food safety and quality.
