Allport Cargo Services, has launched a\u00a0single-use plastic policy\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0to support its wide ranging \u2018Doing well by doing good\u2019 Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) strategy.\u00a0 ACS aim to remove avoidable single-use plastics and replace them with viable and sustainable alternatives and are \u00a0committed to reducing single-use plastic across the business by 2021, with a view to complete elimination.<\/p>\n

Allport Cargo Services\u2019 have a commitment to increasing business sustainability at both an operational and administrative level with major programmes also running for CO2 reduction and supporting global communities that underpin ACS\u2019s global operations . Initial work for the Single Use Plastic Policy will address plastic used for catering, cleaning, office materials, packaging, warehouses and transport.<\/p>\n

The policy is spearheaded by our Chief Executive Officer, Clyde Buntrock. Clyde explains: \u201cWith so much information in the public domain on the effect of single use plastic on the environment, from Primary Schools to Parliament, I strongly feel this the right thing to do. This is not a perfect science, and we are not claiming to be complete on day one, but as a directional strategy, and our aim is to relentlessly and realistically avoid single-use plastic in our daily operations.\u201d<\/p>\n
