What is the opportunity?

This European Supervisor job is working within the European team at Palletforce at Burton-on-Trent. This is a temporary job to cover maternity leave.

Within this growing team, you will report to the European Manager and will be responsible for working closely alongside the European Manager, providing support to the Palletforce Network and other stakeholders; including the Super Hub Team, guiding, supervising and supporting the European team; currently consisting of two European Administrators, one of whom may be working remotely, as well as Ensuring that all European enquires and operational issues received by email, telephone, and internal messaging systems are responded to swiftly. This is a key role for the business and we need someone who has significant experience of working within logistics. Working in this European Supervisor job, you will come into contact with members and colleagues on a regular basis and it is vital that you are able to manage these relationships professionally, while ensuring that the objectives and aims of the business are met.

Responsibilities:

Some key duties of this job are listed below, however this is not an exhaustive list;

  • To guide, supervise and support the European team; currently consisting of two European Administrators, one of whom may be working remotely.
  • Working closely alongside the European Manager, providing support to the Palletforce Network and other stakeholders; including the Super Hub Team
  • Taking ownership for escalations from Palletforce Members, EU Gateways and our European partners ensuring that issues are concluded and communicated accordingly.
  • Ensuring that all European enquires and operational issues received by email, telephone, and internal messaging systems are responded to swiftly. Acting as a central point of contact for all European matters.
  • Complete multi consignment Tracking Reports and where necessary liaise with our parcel provider in the event of discrepancies.
  • Manage UK Collection orders requested by our EU Partners for Export
  • Management of the Export and Import Line-Haul trailers, ensuring the required capacity is available.
  • Ensuring EDI is correct for Export and Import movements.
  • Processing all Import and Export Warehouse Manifests and Out-Turn reports within the timeline required.
  • Managing freight quarantine reports – to proactively ensure we do not hold unidentified freight.
  • The processing of customer consignments onto our internal system Alliance, together with the processing and updating of messages and discrepancies.
  • Working with our Members and partners to offer guidance and support relating to customs processes and requirements post Brexit – Ensuring compliance within the Network.
  • To liaise with our Customs Clearance Partners regarding Export and Import Declarations, as we well as Transit documents.
  • Weekly review of Revenue reports, ensuring all revenue is correctly applied and invoiced.
  • Creation of Purchase Orders ready for approval
  • Maintain weekly and monthly line-haul reports, to ensure correct financial reporting for the P&L
  • Close liaison with third party suppliers, and our European partners to chase and progress PODs, ensuring all shipments capture POD information.

Due to the nature of the role we are unable to consider applications from anyone who does not have experience of European road freight.
