We’d like to hear from you if:

  1. You are a qualified LGV Driver C+E with an up to date CPC qualification
  2. You understand Tachograph laws and rules and regulations of the road.
  3. You have good geographic knowledge of UK roads.
  4. You have experience driving articulated vehicles
  5. You have the ability to work without direct supervision
  6. You have excellent communication skills
  7. You have an ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure

Shift patterns

  1.  4 on 4 off
  2.  5 on 3 off
  3.  Monday to Friday
  4.  Friday to Monday
  5.  Thursday to Sunday

Pay rates

  1.  Pay is graded depending on the shift pattern. The rates for night and weekend shifts are increased compared to day shifts.
  2.  From £20,000 to £46,000 per annum (Some shift patterns are paid based on an hourly figure e.g. £11.60)

Meet Driver Dean Holness

My working week is Monday to Friday, but my days start between 3am to 4am. First thing is a check over of my DAF XF, ensuring all lights, tyres and fluid levels are OK to be on the road. I drive all over the UK, 350 to 400 miles a day, which is almost 100,000 miles a year. Sounds a lot, but it really is the best part of my job. I enjoy driving and I’ve seen many landmarks including Stonehenge the Brecon Beacons and the Peak District. And when I’m out on the road I feel good in myself, knowing I’m delivering vital supplies to various production industries, and supermarkets which, in turn, supply families in their daily lives.

Meet Driver Kevin Henstock

Each day, after being allocated work, I carry out a vehicle check to ensure everything is legal and roadworthy. This includes fluid levels, lights, fridge settings and cab microlise. I typically drive a Renault Premium, delivering chilled goods to Aldi, Lidl, Morrison’s and M&S. A typical shift is between 11 to 14 hours, driving around 500km per day. The best part of the job is the satisfaction of knowing I have delivered my goods in the best possible condition – after all, I have to shop there too!

Having been with the company for almost five years, I have witnessed a great deal of growth with the launch of EV Cargo and I am excited to see more and more EV Cargo lorries out on the road! "Throughout recent times, it has been great to see how resilient we are as a business and one of the positives I have found as a driver is how peaceful the roads have become. "Driving gives me a feeling of independence, working in a male-dominated industry and proving day in and day out how capable women are at completing this role to a high standard.
