What is the opportunity?

EV Cargo Logistics at Crick is looking to recruit a Transport Planner to cover the Company’s network operations. The role will be based on a 37.5 hours per week, working a ‘5 out of 7’ days shift pattern. As a Transport Planner you will ideally have a minimum of 2 years transport experience within the General haulage and contract logistics sector, you will be used to working as part of a team.

As one of our Transport Planners you will be playing a central role in creating effective transport plans for our customer network, whilst complying with legal responsibilities.

The successful candidate will be able to work on their own initiative, with the willingness to resolve complex issues. They should be able to comfortably organise their own workload and will be able to work in a pressurised environment to meet key deadlines. Strong verbal and written communication are essential requisites.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • To ensure the daily plan is completed in real time, managing resources effectively; maximising utilisation whilst minimising cost
  • Controlling and planning the agreed amount of resource (vehicles, drivers, trailers); ensuring all legal requirements are adheared to (Working Time Directive and EU Drivers’ hours regulations)
  • Understanding and achieving key performance targets relating to the safety and efficiency of our fleet (including utilisation and costing)
  • Good geographical knowledge of the UK required
  • Experience of working closely with transport operations
  • Creating collection plans to inform suppliers of loading requirements.
  • Customer/Supplier/Subcontractor management at a number of levels.
