THE ROLE
As our Branch Manager in Rotterdam, you will have full fiscal and operational oversight of our key location, which is heavily focused on ocean freight and warehousing. You will drive financial performance (P&L), champion continuous improvement, and spearhead business development to maximize revenue.
We are looking for an entrepreneurial leader who can inspire a team of 45 professionals, deliver best-in-class customer service, and ensure that our facility remains a safe, efficient, and future-proof hub.
We manage supply chains for the world’s leading brands.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITES:
- Manage the daily operations of the Rotterdam facility, ensuring smooth, safe, and on-time processing of all ocean freight, warehouse and distribution activities.
- P&L Accountability: Take full ownership of the branch budget, review financial results, and establish goals to address any budgetary variances.
- Prepare regular business performance updates and market insights for senior management.
- Team Development: Lead, coach, and motivate a total team of 45 staff members (with 5 direct reports), setting clear performance expectations and promoting a healthy work culture.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, annual performance reviews, and training initiatives.
- Business Development: Support and contribute to the Sales Team in acquiring new customers and identifying market opportunities.
- Act as a senior point of contact for key accounts, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
- Lead contract and pricing negotiations with strategic clients and suppliers.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Bachelor’s degree (HBO) or equivalent thinking level, preferably in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration.
- 10+ years of freight forwarding / logistics industry experience, with a minimum of 7 years in a proven managerial or supervisory role.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships and present ideas effectively to both clients, executives and your team.
- A ‘quality-first’ approach, commercially sharp, and highly resilient in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional fluency in both Dutch and English is required.
- Valid Category B driver’s license.
