EV Cargo, a global technology-enabled supply chain and logistics execution platform for the world’s leading brands, has appointed Lesley Coles as Vice President of People, UK.

Having held the position of Head of People Relations since 2021, the internal promotion will see Ms Coles further support EV Cargo’s people strategy, ensuring the company is a logistics employer of choice.

She takes over the role on 1 November 2022 from Wendy Dean, who is leaving the position at the end of the year after harmonising the people team under one structure, and will assume responsibility for employee relations, resourcing, learning and development and shared services, delivering a cohesive approach for people management across the business.

Joining the EV Cargo senior leadership team, Ms Coles will ensure UK operations benefit from excellent support from a motivated, highly trained and productive people function, and will further develop Delivering Better – EV Cargo’s culture programme

Prior to joining EV Cargo, she held senior positions at a number of major national and international businesses including Morrisons, Muller, British Gas, TJX Europe and FedEx, demonstrating a strong career in people management.

Heath Zarin, Founder, Chairman and CEO of EV Cargo, said: “Lesley has a proven track record within EV Cargo and her promotion will help deliver our people strategy and strengthen the support provided by the UK people function. We’ve made considerable progress over the last 18 months and the people function will continue to play a key role in supporting the wider business to deliver on its growth strategy.

“I would like to thank Wendy Dean for the work she has done in creating one people team for EV Cargo and successfully delivering several HR projects for the business.”

Lesley Coles, Vice President of People, UK, said: “I am delighted to embark on this new role which will help take the people agenda in the UK to the next level. EV Cargo has set out a clear vision and people strategy to support the business and its growth. That includes attracting, developing and retaining the highest levels of talent, progressing our culture programme and being a diverse and inclusive employer – all while helping our people develop long-term and sustainable careers as the company grows.”
