This is EV Cargo Modern Slavery Statement in respect of slavery and human trafficking following the introduction of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (MSA) EV Cargo is fully committed to compliance with the MSA and all applicable legislation.
This statement sets out work performed, and ongoing initiatives taken by EV Cargo to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within its business and network.
EV Cargo currently employ more than 2436 staff worldwide. EV Cargo network comprises of subsidiaries, joint ventures, partners and associates.
EV Cargo recognises that its business model presents various risks as outlined within the MSA using agency and temporary staff in the UK, in addition to a worldwide partner and associate network.
The following policies apply to our UK business and global network.
EV Cargo has identified sub-contractor labour and agency workers, as the main area where there is risk, in which human trafficking and modern slavery could occur. It is anticipated that the largest exposure to modern slavery is within the global network.
EV Cargo continues to work with suppliers, agencies and business partners to ensure that they are open and transparent to their activities and are fully compliant with the MSA.
EV Cargo has an independently administered hotline available to all employees across our global network to raise any concerns they have or may see. Our whistleblowing policy elaborates and promotes Speaking out “it’s ok to say”.
We continue to risk assess by country and services offered/provided by our network of partners and associates and work towards mitigating, monitoring and controlling the risks identified.
EV Cargo continue to raise awareness of modern slavery and human trafficking within its business and network.
It is appreciated that EV Cargo’s largest exposure to modern slavery is within its worldwide network. As such, EV Cargo is committed to establishing a combined drive with our third parties and suppliers to build socially responsible supply chains
EV Cargo operates a strict process where all third parties are subject to due diligence checks; this applies to new third parties at the onboarding stage and to existing third parties throughout the duration of the business relationship.
In order to further enhance the existing controls, audits are conducted by or on behalf of EV Cargo Compliance Team.
Mandatory ethical training is conducted every two years via EV Cargo’s Global Forwarding skill gate platform “Click and Learn” for all employees based in the UK and within the global network. This training is mandatory for all managers as they perform an important task; leading by example and acting as role models.
The Ethics & Compliance Committee continues to provide oversight on all ethical and social responsibility matters.
