Global freight and supply chain provider EV Cargo Global Forwarding, which operates in over 100 countries, has announced three high-profile internal promotions to help deliver its ongoing global growth strategy.

Nick Toye assumes the role of vice president – global product and procurement ocean freight and retains his position as chairman of Far East cargo line. Russell Lawrence is promoted to vice president – UK region, while Simon Power is promoted to vice president – global operations.

The promotions have been made to build a robust executive platform, underpinned by experience and expertise, to ensure the company’s accelerated global expansion and help deliver its international growth strategy. This also incorporates the creation of regional clusters and global roles in operations and procurement.

Nick Toye – VP global product and procurement ocean freight
Nick extends his ocean freight procurement role globally in what can only be seen as a highly challenging market at the current time. Building on his excellent carrier relations and commitment to being a leading authority in the Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier (NVOCC) freight market.

Nick is a long-standing member of the team, having joined the air freight division in 1987. Throughout his time with the company he has taken on many roles, including time spent living in Hong Kong and Israel, culminating in his pivotal position driving procurement and service for our NVOCC.

Russell Lawrence – VP UK region
Russ now heads the UK region, the largest single region in the network. He leads the UK product teams across sea, air, road and rail to enhance service provision to UK customers.
Russ is also a long-standing member of the team, joining as an apprentice at Allport in 1986. From his early days as a junior entry clerk and docks runner, he progressed through the ranks to ocean freight managing director, exactly 30 years after officially joining the company.

Simon Power – VP global operations
As VP global operations, Simon is responsible for developing and harmonising operating standards across all global regions as well as driving the compliance, quality and ethical agenda.

He joined the company in 2016, bringing an extensive background and experience of the sector most recently with DHL. Starting his career in freight forwarding and logistics in 1984 as an airfreight import and export clerk, he’s since worked for SME forwarders and well as multinationals and has a deep breadth of knowledge.

Simon has been heavily involved in structural projects around business improvement and efficiency, new business implementation and offshoring and outsourcing projects. His customer-centric approach ensures the delivery of high-quality services.
