Key Responsibilities:

  • The movement of trailers from & to bays as requested.
  • Carry out visual checks to ensure trailer are roadworthy.
  • Place trailer into the designated areas on site (loaded & empty trailers)
  • Ensure visiting drivers (EVC & other hauliers) drop trailer in the designated areas.
  • Ensure empty trailers have curtains pulled and secured.
  • VOR any non-roadworthy trailer and report to the appropriate department.
  • Follow the VOR procedure.
  • Ensure a VOR plate is attached.
  • Ensure the trailer cannot go on the road.
  • Ensure daily vehicle check are carried out on Tugs and any other mechanical equipment.
  • Complete Pre-check equipment documents.
  • Monitor the diesel and Ad-Blue level in the onsite tank, report on low levels to the appropriate department.
  • Monitor visiting drivers to ensure all site rules are being adhered to

Health & Safety – commitment to safety
Demonstrate a good understanding of the H&S requirements and culture that we operate at EV Cargo.
Trained on the EVC trailer checking and VOR procedures.
Trained on the EVC strapping of loads (Load Safety)

Essential Skills
Shunting/C+E experience desirable but training can be given to the right candidate.
Vehicle / Trailer checking, including VOR procedures.

Desirable Skills
Level 2 in English & Maths
